MEMUNITY Announces 8th Workshop on Wafer-Level MEMS Testing
(February 1, 2008) Dresden, GERMANY — Following a successful series of events held in Europe, MEMUNITY has announced its eighth workshop under the title "Critical Success Factors for Commercialization: Production Test of MEMS at Wafer Level". The workshop will be held on March 13 at the Institute for Microelectronic and Micromechanical Systems (IMMS) in Ilmenau, Germany.

MEMS Forecast: Consumer Applications Drive Steady Growth

Angstrom Sciences Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

The company was founded in June 1988 near Pittsburgh, PA, by current president, Mark A. Bernick. Fox Electronics Acquires Jet City Electronics
(January 29, 2008) Fort Myers, FL — Fox Electronics, a supplier of frequency control solutions, has announced its acquisition of Jet City Electronics Inc., a Seattle, WA-based fabless semiconductor design firm. As a wholly-owned subsidiary, Jet City will continue to provide Fox with leading-edge timing ASICs as well as with core research and development. In addition, the president of Jet City, John Fallisgaard, will be joining Fox's Board of Directors.

STMicroelectronics Introduces Precision Digital Temperature Sensor Series
(January 29, 2008) GENEVA — STMicroelectronics has announced a new series of precision digital-output temperature sensors, operating over the -55 to +125°C temperature range, good for low power applications in a broad range of product areas. The STxx75 devices are software-compatible drop-in replacements for industry-standard LM75, DS75 and TCN75A parts, and also complement ST's STLM20 analog temperature sensor, now being used in several mobile phone designs.

AMI Semiconductor, IMEC to Develop Next-gen Smart Power Technologies
(January 28, 2008) Pocatello, Idaho — AMI Semiconductor has entered into a new two-year collaboration program with IMEC to develop AMIS's future Smart Power technologies. Under the terms of the agreement, AMIS will develop critical and novel Smart Power processes and devices in IMEC's advanced 200 mm facilities, and use IMEC's know-how and experience in deep submicron process technology.
