INDUSTRY NEWS TODAY Maskless Photolithography System Sold to University ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. Intelligent Micro Patterning LLC has sold its flagship product, the SF-100 maskless photolithography system, to the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). MEETING REPORT Updates on folded flex and thin packaging at ICAPS RENO, NEV. The International Microelectronics and Packaging Society held its first International Conference on Advanced Packaging and Systems (ICAPS) in March in Reno. The event featured sessions on most critical areas of advanced packaging technology, including design and test, 3-D packaging, MEMS packaging, and thermal management. Tabletop exhibits accompanied the two parallel technical sessions.

THOUGHTS ON THE NEWS Quantity AND Quality in the News It can be suspicious when a company makes multiple announcements on one day. Is one of them bad news trying to hide behind good news, or are they just trying to flood the media and increase their chances of appearing in print?
