(July 16, 2007) SAN FRANCISCO The exhibition at SEMICON West, July 1719 in San Francisco, hosts product introductions and demonstrations, technical talks, networking events, and other happenings. Following are the tradeshow offerings from IMEC, Antares, Cymer, NY Loves Nanotech, Kyzen, and X-tek.
Antares Advanced Test Technologies will discuss thermal management with attendees, and will demonstrate its Thermal Control Unit (TCU) at Booth 7315. The Antares representatives plan to educate attendees on thermal issues in packaging, processing of semiconductors, and system design. They will also discuss back-end and burn-in test.
Research group IMEC will offer visitors a chocolate tasting along with technical and program information at Booth 1846. The Belgium-based research center invites attendees to sample chocolates from its host country from 4:30 to 6 on Tuesday the 17th.
Cymer, Inc., will debut its OnPulse light-source support package at SEMICON. The company developed a support program with 24/7 remote monitoring, performance tuning, and maintenance services for its DUV excimer laser light sources, and claims that the program is a lower-risk service model for semiconductor manufacturers than transaction-oriented models. OnPulse eliminates cost of consumables (CoC) parts transactions, and offers a global infrastructure of laser-engineering teams, service systems, parts depots, and regional technicians. Visit Cymer at Booth 430. For more lithography news, see SEMICON WEST PREVIEW: ASML, Cymer, Synopsys Headline Litho Announcements from sister publication Microlithography World.
Kyzen debuts the MICRONOX MX2628 aqueous cleaner for advanced packaging at Booth 7735. The product can be used in batch or in-line cleaning machines, and targets lead-free flux materials. It is said to leave mirrored solder finishes to improve optical inspection of lead-free packages. Environmentally friendly, it reportedly offers a long tank life and multiple-pass cleaning.
The "NY Loves Nanotech" pavilion, Booths 5587 and 5787, will accommodate more than 100 NY state representatives from high-tech companies, economic development groups, academic institutes, and related organizations. The NY initiative is driven by the Center for Economic Growth (CEG) consortium, which aims to promote nanotechnology research and production in New York State. The group will be highlighting AMD's decision to build manufacturing facilities in NY, and SEMATECH's move from Texas to Albany, NY. Supporting groups include the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), the Empire State Development Corporation, Precision Flow Technologies, National Grid, First Nano and CVD Equipment Corporation, NYSTAR, Airgas East, the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering, and other sponsors and exhibitors.
At Booth H7853, X-tek Group will demonstrate a computerized tomography (CT) capacity on its Revolution X-ray system. CT produces high-resolution 3D data sets that can be viewed at any angle, sliced in any direction, and measured to enable detailed analysis of the internal structure of a range of components and substrates.
